"Gerard Leblanc on Silverlight", reloaded

by gleblanc 13. September 2008 23:51

A few months ago, I stopped my blog (Gerard Leblanc on Silverlight) to devote myself to my book "Silverlight 2", published in French by Eyrolles, Paris (see here).

This book is now in bookstores (for instance, see here or here). Incidently, my book's companion web site contains sample programs (see here) that could be instructive even if your French doesn't go further than "Liberté, égalité, fraternité" (in case you don't know, it's the national motto for France). These programs were written to be self-explanatory and illustrate one thing at a time. The C# and VB versions are always provided.

This blog will contain additional information. This time, English will be used most of the time since this language is, no doubt, the universal language for professional programmers.

I hope you will find this blog instructive.

I dont usually reply to posts but I will in this case. Ive been getting this very same problem with a new WordPress installation of mine. Ive spent weeks calibrating and getting it ready when all of a sudden I cannot delete any content. Its a workaround that, although isnt perfect, does the trick so thanks! I really hope this problem gets solved properly asap.

Gerard Leblanc on Silverlight reloaded  , alright that made me interested. I have  started to develop utilizing Silverlight but I am realising it is a large learning curve.  My recent experience is with mysql, php, most linux based tools and flash. The challenge of using Silverlight to arrive at a satisfactory layout which runs rapidly in all the established browsers, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome can be a large head ache that is taking me umpteen hours to overcome.  Absorbing to study your thoughts and the remarks in your web site on Silverlight.  I feel the tutorial websites and Microsofts Silverlight site are inert and cover the same points, discussion in web logs oftentimes covers actual methods to resolve issues that leads me through the learning curve more rapidly.  Thank you for the post, it has assisted in a moderate way to get me through the migration.
